Festive Makeup Look + Christmas decorations

For many, Christmas is their favourite time of the year and I am no exception. For me it means stress free time of the year, when I can spend some extra time with my friends and family. It also means cold weather which I like, hot cocoa in the morning and Eagle Grey during the day. But being all grown up, the end of December also means having fun and celebrate the end of the year usually with friends or at corporate parties aaaand so on.

So I’ve decided to make a little festive makeup “tutorial” for you – I am not really that kind of girl who knows exactly how to do makeup and usually I wear just some foundation and mascara .. that’s it. But for now I’m gonna do an exception and show you one of my favourite festive makeup looks.

First of all, I needed to create a good base for the makeup so I applied a moisturizer and primer all over my face.

Then I used my personal favourite at this moment Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation in the 103 True Avory shade. I love this foundation since it has really nice coverage and feels just great on the skin so if you don’t mind that this is the full coverage foundation, I recommend it to you.

Next I put the YSL concealer in the Ivory Beige shade on my blemishes and under my eyes just to get rid of the circles and then I blended it in.

Now moving on to the powder.. I can sometimes get a little bit oily throughout the day which is generally my T-zone, so I used the Miss Sporty So matte Perfect stay powder in the medium shade.

Now it is time for the blusher. I used this Soft glow blush by Chanel on the top of my cheeks. In these winter months everyone’s skin is looking a bit pale so It is nice to give your face a little bit of colour. After that, I used the Victoria’s secret shimmer highlighter for that festive glow.

I moved on to the eyebrows. I filled them in using the technic Ultimate brow kit – medium shade. For my eye shadows, I used the Victoria’s secret palette. I started by blending a few of the gold shades together and applying these all over my lids. Then, with a dark brown shade, I created some depth, putting this on the outer corner of my eye and a little bit higher into the crease. I also put some underneath my eyes as well. Just make sure you blend everything together so there are no harsh lines, It doesn’t look good at all. Then I applied a few coats of the Rimmel Volume Colourist mascara.

Finally the last thing I needed to do were my lips. I used the Dior lipstick in the Red smile shade. It is just perfect festive colour I would say and the lipstick is very comfortable to wear, It doesn’t dry out my lips at all and It lasts for quite some time.

This is the final look.fullsizerender

Now after the Festive Makeup look is done, I want to show you some Christmas decorations at my place, just to get you to the real Xmas mood and maybe you will get inspired as well.

And you probably made it to the end!

I hope you guys enjoyed this makeup look and maybe you will try it out yourself. Let me know what is your favourite red lipstick / liquid lipstick, I’m really curious.

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas ..  ♪♫, Petra.
