White Christmas?

Hello everybody,

My favourite time of the year is finally upon us – CHRISTMAS. And after such a long time, it looks like there is going to be a white Christmas in the Czech republic (finally!). Even though it should get warmer pretty soon, I think it is going to last for a while.

One of my favourite things about Christmas is getting the house all festive and cosy. Since I had to study every day all day lately, I was in no mood to think about Christmas and all those festive things around it. But now I’m finally off for at least a few days so today I was able to decorate my room and the rest of the house and decorate a Christmas tree of course .. two of them actually (one is not enough, I must always have my own tree in my room haha).

I feel so much better now I gotta say, there is nothing more stressful than the end of semester.

Although Christmas is a time for giving and receiving, I am one of these people that is all about the giving. I’ve got this tradition .. every time after I’m done with decorating tree’s and stuff, I move to wrapping.

I usually buy wrapping papers at IKEA simply because I love good quality wrapping papers + those designs are unique and so cute.

I know it’s Christmas tomorrow, but I thought I’d share my Top 5 Christmas films anyway. I find sitting down to watch a Christmas movie is the perfect way to get into the festive spirit (even though you probably already are there but one never knows, right?). It was actually pretty hard to narrow it down to just five as there are so many amazing films out there, and so many on the TV at this time of the year. So there it is:

  1. How The Grinch Stole Christmas – it never gets old, I love this one since forever.
  2. The Holiday – this one is a fairytale for adults I would say.
  3. Home Alone – no words needed.
  4. The Nightmare Before Christmas – haha what can I say here .. I simply love Tim Burton.
  5. Christmas Vacation – old good classic.

Now let’s move on to a Spotify playlist which I quite like lately .. if you like soundtracks from Christmas movies, you will love this one. I always put it on shuffle and play it through the Sonos so it blasts throughout the whole house, it always lifts my mood.

This is it! I really hope you’ll all have an amazing Christmas. Relax and have a happy day with whoever you are spending it with. Cuddle up and watch as many festive films as possible, eat well, drink a lot and take care everyone <3.

Let it snow and snow and… , Petra.
