I’ve never really been a “makeup”girl, of course I like to experiment a bit occasionally still I always come back to natural, simple makeup look .. nothing really colourful, just nude colours, mascara, brow definition and that’s it .. So in this century where everyone (or at least most of the girls) is trying to look fabulous and flawless, perfect instagram brows, bold botox lips, contoured face with tons of products .. sometimes I’m a little bit “sad” about it because every one of us is beautiful just the way we are and it’s a shame to be covered in layers of makeup products .. isn’t it?
So in a few simple steps I’m going to show you a quick easy makeup routine of my own.
After applying some moisturiser and waiting for a few minutes, I applied my favourite winter foundation – Rimmel Lasting Finish. After that I used a Catrice concealer because I needed to cover a few blemishes (otherwise I wouldn’t use it so if you don’t have to cover anything – the less products the better).
As I said in an older post, I can get a little bit oily throughout the day sometimes, so I need to use a powder. My lately favourite is this miss sporty So Clear – Anti spot. It is an antibacterial transparent mattifying powder – I highly recommend it.
(I changed my mind and skipped the contouring stick.)
For blusher I used the Inglot blush in this very nice pink shade. I have only put a little bit of this on since you can overdo the pink.
Neat, groomed eyebrows are a must. Comb and fill in empty spots in your brows and set with a gel (or use colourful Ka-Brow brow gel like I did). Resist filling them in too heavily, however make sure they are defined to pull the look together. If you want to, you can use some brow highlight pencil to make the brow bones look more “clean”.
For the eye shadows, I used the Too Faced Chocolate bar palette. The shade I used all over the lid was the Champagne Truffle. In the corner of my eye I used a beautiful shade called White Chocolate which is basically a simple white/beige shade and then in the crease of my eyes I used the one underneath which is a light brown matte colour called Semi-Sweet, to create some depth. I also put this shade underneath the bottom lash line. For my mascara I used Maybelline Lash Sensational (probably the best mascara I’ve ever had).
Onto my lips I used a Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipstick in shade n. 57 Aventure. I love this colour and I love this lipstick a lot. It is very comfortable to wear, it doesn’t dry out and looks amazing for a very long time.
So this is the final look :)!
As you all probably know, Lush makes its special limited editions during a year and Valentine’s day is no exception. I got some products from my boyfriend earlier on my birthday and I was really surprised and happy about them – they are so so so cute and the smell is just amazing.
The Kiss – another lip scrub from the Lush factory. This scrub is a lot like the Bubblegum lip scrub in texture but has a different smell and taste. It smells a lot like a candy but in taste it’s slightly salty which is why I didn’t like this scrub at all :(. I was very disappointed, the salt ruins the product in my opinion + I didn’t like those little edible hearts as well (it takes forever to melt them away). So in conclusion – if you don’t mind scrubbing your lips with mixed sugar&salt, It’s just as good as any other Lush lip scrub.
Cupid – oh my! This bath bomb smells so incredible! It’s a lovely blend of raspberry, lime, and rose. It is just what you see, there is nothing hidden inside of this bath bomb but it’s perfect just the way it is. After I left the bath my skin was incredibly soft and smelt heavenly.Yum!
Another one is this Over and Over bath bomb. It smells very citrusy. Once in the bath the yellow bath bomb dissolves slowly before pink fizzes out, leaving the bath a beautiful sunset orange colour. The orange section slowly melts away, however it did leave an orange ring around the bath which I had to clean with a soap .. but I loved it anyway. It is super moisturising and relaxing.
Love you, love you lots soap – I haven’t try this one out yet but It has a lovely gentle rose scent and I think it is a perfect gift for a friend/boy or girlfriend. Those heart shapes and love signs are really cute.
Ladybird (on the left) is a very nice bubble bar. Its scent is stunning! I can’t quite describe it but it reminds me of a childhood a lot (I would say the scent is kind of fruity with a sweet peppermint but I’m not sure). The bar makes a lot of soft bubbles and it turns the water into pink.
Two hearts beating as one – literally. This bath melt is made of two parts – neon pink and orange heart. You can use just one of them (they are separable) or both at the same time. It is very moisturising and smells lovely.
And finally there is a last product which I bought for myself just a few days ago. Love Spell massage bar. I usually apply this at night. It doesn’t leave the skin feeling sticky or too oily, just lovely and soft – LOVED it.
So this is it for today, I hope you enjoyed reading this post and you are having a nice Friday night. See you soon :).
